# Team Visma | Lease a Bike Shines in Third Stage of Coppi e Bartali
In a thrilling third stage of the Coppi e Bartali, Team Visma | Lease a Bike demonstrated resilience and skill as they tackled the challenging ascent of the Passo dei Tre Termini, just thirty kilometers from the finish line. With the early breakaway caught, the focus shifted to the general classification (GC) contenders, and the team prepared to make their mark.
Riders Schiffer, Rowe, and Smith climbed side by side with the leading group up the grueling 8-kilometer climb. Although Rowe, typically a member of the Development Team, pushed hard and finished in ninth place, he showcased his competitive spirit.
“For Elliot, it was a test to see if he could handle this. And yes, he has shown that he can,” noted sports director Robert Wagner, clearly impressed with Rowe’s performance.
Wagner expressed satisfaction with the day’s outcomes. “I’m very pleased with how the day went,” he said. “Anton, Elliot, and William were part of a select group and did a fantastic job. In his second year with our team, he has taken a great step forward.”
Both Schiffer and Rowe now find themselves well placed in the general classification, trailing overall leader Mauro Schmid by just twelve seconds. Looking ahead, Wagner stated, “Tomorrow’s stage isn’t as tough as today’s. If it comes down to a sprint, Elliot can go for it again. The final day is going to be a real grueller. We’ll do our absolute best to secure a good result.”
