Team Visma | Lease a Bike completes second stage of the Volta a Catalunya without any issues

# Team Visma | Lease a Bike Navigates Second Stage of Volta a Catalunya Smoothly

The second stage of the Volta a Catalunya saw Team Visma | Lease a Bike successfully complete the challenging route from Figueres to Banyoles, covering nearly 170 kilometres. An early breakaway of five riders set the tone for the day, building a maximum lead of three minutes before their fates turned with just two kilometres remaining. Ultimately, Magnus Cort displayed impressive sprinting ability to claim victory.

Reflecting on the team’s strategy, sports director Marc Reef expressed satisfaction with their performance. “I think we had a relatively quiet day,” he noted. “Five riders broke away and from that moment on we were able to save energy. It was important to be at the front in the final, because the last 27 kilometres were mainly downhill. We wanted to stay out of trouble and the guys did a brilliant job. Ultimately, we entered the final three kilometres in a good way.”

Looking ahead, Reef anticipates greater challenges in tomorrow’s stage, particularly due to two tough climbs early on. He added, “I expect a somewhat more hectic day tomorrow,” emphasizing the need for alertness, especially if wind conditions become a factor.

In the stage results, Magnus Cort from Uno-X Mobility took the top spot with a time of 03:45:28, followed closely by Noa Isidore from Decathlon CMA CGM Team and Francesco Busatto from Alpecin-Premier Tech. Team Visma | Lease a Bike had several members competing, with Jonas Vingegaard finishing in 39th place, maintaining a competitive standing overall.

The rankings after the second stage are led by Dorian Godon from INEOS Grenadiers, with Vingegaard sitting comfortably in 13th, just 10 seconds off the lead.

As the competition progresses, Team Visma | Lease a Bike aims to build on their strong foundation while navigating the challenges of the upcoming stages.
