The latest stage of the renowned Tirreno-Adriatico race proved to be a test of endurance for cyclists as Team Visma | Lease a Bike navigated through rain-soaked roads. The longest stage of this seven-day Italian odyssey held promise for sprinters, yet a significant climb to Petrella del Salto (7 km at 4%) roughly 40 kilometers from the finish complicated matters.
With few breakaway attempts to contend with on this stormy day—save for a spirited move by Diego Pablo Sevilla—the race maintained its pace, allowing the focus to shift to the anticipated bunch sprint in the streets of Magliano de’ Marsi. Remarkably, Team Visma | Lease a Bike opted to refrain from engaging in the final sprint, ensuring that all seven riders finished safely in the peloton.
