Antonio Tiberi wins atop Jebel Mobrah

# Antonio Tiberi Clinches Victory at Jebel Mobrah in UAE Tour

Antonio Tiberi celebrated a stunning solo victory on Stage 3 of the UAE Tour, securing the win atop the newly introduced summit finish of Jebel Mobrah following a 183km route that commenced in Umm Al Quwain.

The day began with a controlled pace as riders navigated the flat stretches, but the race intensified dramatically during the final ascent. Felix Gall from Decathlon–CMA CGM initiated the first significant attack with 6km remaining, prompting Tiberi to follow closely. With just 4km to go, Tiberi made his decisive move, creating a gap as the incline steepened.

Felix Gall’s early efforts were met with a strong challenge, as race leader Remco Evenepoel began to struggle on the treacherous slopes. Ultimately, Evenepoel lost his grip on the red jersey, finishing 2:04 behind Tiberi, who held off a late charge from Isaac del Toro to cross the finish line 15 seconds ahead.

This performance has catapulted Tiberi not only into the Red Jersey as the overall leader but also into the White Jersey as the best young rider, now 21 seconds ahead of del Toro in the general classification. With another significant contest looming at Jebel Hafeet during Stage 6, the competition remains fierce.

In his post-race comments, an elated Tiberi remarked: “It’s amazing. This is a dream for me, and I still need to realise what I’ve done. I started the season with really good sensations right from the training camps. Then, in my first race, I felt that I was already close. I had been waiting for this moment to come, and today it finally happened. It’s even more special to achieve it on such a hard climb here in the UAE. I came here with the goal of finishing in the top five, maybe even the top three. I think today I showed that I can also try to win the UAE Tour, and from now on I will definitely go for the victory.”

As Tiberi gears up for the remaining stages, all eyes will be on the climbs ahead and whether he can maintain his lead in this prestigious cycling event.
