# Patryk Goszczurny Shines in Fourth Stage of Tour of Oman with Bold Breakaway
In the fourth stage of the Tour of Oman, held along the scenic coastline between Al Sawadi Beach and Sohar, 19-year-old Patryk Goszczurny of Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development made headlines with a determined early attack. The flat stage covered 146 kilometers and showcased Goszczurny’s aggressive riding style, as he sought to build on his combativity classification lead.
Having lined up with only three riders after Bart Lemmen’s unfortunate crash in the previous stage, Goszczurny wasted no time in asserting his presence. He launched an attack right from kilometer zero, joined shortly thereafter by his teammate Vangheluwe. Together, the pair built a substantial lead that had the peloton working hard to close the gap.
Throughout the stage, intermediate sprints provided opportunities for points, and Goszczurny excelled by crossing the line first on both occasions. These efforts served to further solidify his position atop the combativity classification.
Despite their strong showing, the leading duo was caught by the peloton with just two kilometers left to race. In the final sprint, Erlend Blikra of Uno-X Mobility claimed victory, while Goszczurny’s teammate Aldo Taillieu made a commendable effort, finishing 12th on his 20th birthday.
Reflecting on his day in the saddle, Goszczurny expressed satisfaction with his performance: “I once again enjoyed a day in the breakaway. It wasn’t easy, but we gave it our all to go for the stage win. I will definitely take this experience with me into the future. Going all-in for the golden jersey was a goal, so I’m happy I was able to secure it today. I can look back on four strong stages. Tomorrow, a tough finale of this race still awaits us.”
