Pau Martí becomes latest IPT Academy rider to graduate to WorldTeam
# Pau Martí Graduates from IPT Academy to Join WorldTeam
Pau Martí, a promising young cyclist from Valencia, has officially signed a two-year contract with the IPT WorldTeam, marking his transition from the IPT Academy to professional cycling. At just 20 years old, he joins an esteemed group of former Academy riders such as Marco Frigo, Oded Kogut, and Itamar Einhorn, who have all found success at the highest levels of the sport.
In his three years with the development team, Martí has proven his mettle by securing a podium finish at the prestigious Giro Next Gen, clinching a stage victory at the Volta a Portugal, and finishing sixth in the UCI World Championships under-23 road race in Rwanda just last month.
Reflecting on his journey, Martí expressed his gratitude: **“Joining a professional team is something that every young rider dreams of, and this has been the case with me ever since I started cycling aged four and watching races on TV. Therefore, it’s only right that I say that this is a dream come true.”** He credited the IPT Academy for believing in him from the start, particularly highlighting the support of Sports Director Rubén Plaza.
**“This team has been crucial in my development… Year by year, slowly but surely, my level in the races has improved. I’m really thankful for everything that the Academy has done for me,”** he remarked. He also stated his commitment to improving his skills as he transitions into a more competitive environment, pledging to assist the team’s leaders and seize any opportunities to achieve personal success.
In his brief professional career, Martí has already accumulated 11 race days with IPT’s ProTeam, contributing to team victories at both the Giro del Veneto (2024) and O Gran Camiño (2025). His reputation as a proficient climber adept in stage races and hilly one-day classics has not gone unnoticed, instilling confidence in General Manager Kjell Carlström regarding his upcoming transition.
**“Pau has done everything we’ve asked of him since joining the IPT Academy in 2023, so we’re excited to see what he can achieve in the coming years,”** Carlström stated. He noted that Martí’s stage win at the Volta a Portugal showcased his impressive race strategy and highlighted his potential as a strong contender in both one-day and stage races.
As Martí embarks on this new chapter with the IPT WorldTeam, he carries with him the hopes and aspirations of not just himself, but also those who have invested in his journey thus far. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in the young cyclist’s career as he prepares to make his mark at the professional level.
