Behrens claims eleventh place in stage two of the Tour of Guangxi

# Behrens Secures Eleventh Place in Tour of Guangxi Stage Two

In a challenging stage two of the Tour of Guangxi, spanning approximately 179 kilometers of rolling terrain from Chongzuo to Jingxi, 21-year-old Niklas Behrens from Team Visma | Lease a Bike finished strong in eleventh place. The stage began under rainy conditions, with the riders navigating the day’s only categorized climb in the latter part of the race.

A breakaway consisting of six riders managed to escape the peloton early on but was eventually reeled back just five kilometers before the finish. As the race neared its conclusion, Jhonatan Narváez attempted a late attack, yet the peloton was keenly focused on what would culminate in a bunch sprint.

“Today Niklas was given the opportunity to try his luck in the sprint,” remarked sports director Jesper Mørkøv. “He was brought forward perfectly by his teammates in the final kilometers, but unfortunately got a bit boxed in amid the chaos. Because of that, he couldn’t quite show his full potential, but it was good to see him in the front. Tomorrow’s stage will be another tough one, but another sprint certainly can’t be ruled out.”

Behrens’ efforts on the course positioned him just outside the top ten, alongside his teammates who also put in commendable performances.

### Stage Results:
1. Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) – 03:45:10
2. Pavel Bittner (Team Picnic PostNL) – Same time
3. Stanisław Aniołkowski (Cofidis) – Same time
11. Niklas Behrens (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) – Same time

With the focus shifting to the next stage, fans and team officials alike are eager to see how Behrens will perform as he continues to mature as a competitor. The anticipation of another potential sprint keeps Team Visma | Lease a Bike optimistic about forthcoming opportunities.
