# Israel – Premier Tech Issues Statement on Safety and Protests at Vuelta a España
**Israel – Premier Tech**, a professional cycling team, has reaffirmed its commitment to competing in the ongoing Vuelta a España amidst recent protests that have impacted the race. In a statement released on September 3, the team emphasized that any deviation from participating would set a “dangerous precedent in the sport of cycling not only for Israel – Premier Tech, but for all teams.”
The team has consistently acknowledged the importance of peaceful protests, stating, “We respect everyone’s right to protest, as long as those protests remain peaceful and do not compromise the safety of the peloton.” They expressed gratitude towards the Vuelta a España race organization and police for their efforts to ensure a secure racing environment.
In their statement, Israel – Premier Tech condemned the actions of protestors in Bilbao, labeling their behavior as “not only dangerous, but counterproductive to their cause.” The protests, they argued, ultimately deprived Basque cycling fans—who are celebrated for their passion and enthusiasm—of the exciting stage finish they deserved.
The team also extended its appreciation to the race organizers and the UCI for their ongoing support, alongside the encouragement received from various teams, riders, and loyal fans.
