# Team Visma | Lease a Bike Faces Challenges in Fourth Stage of Tour de Pologne
In the fourth stage of the Tour de Pologne, the peloton embarked from Rybnik for a demanding 200-kilometre route that included three categorized climbs. A trio of escapees quickly pulled away, establishing a two-minute lead early on. However, Steven Kruijswijk of Team Visma | Lease a Bike managed to keep the pace steady for the first 170 kilometres.
The day’s most significant climb failed to create notable splits within the peloton, which surged towards the local laps in Cieszyn. Here, the anticipation of cobblestones, tight twists, and an uphill finale heightened the race intensity. Despite the challenging terrain, the peloton struggled to close the gap to the breakaway, but all riders came together in the final kilometre.
As the race approached its climax, Matthew Brennan attempted to position himself for the sprint, but his efforts fell short. Ultimately, Paul Magnier crossed the finish line first, claiming the stage victory. Reflecting on the performance, sports director Jesper Mørkøv remarked, “We tried to do the sprint for Olav, and we did well during the day. We also hit the local laps in a fine position, but then everything turned very hectic. We lost each other before the sprint, and we didn’t have the right position in the last corner. Matthew and Olav were just a bit too far back. We shift our focus towards the remaining stages now.”
