Coppi and Bartali International Week 2025 presented in Ferrara

The 2025 edition of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, one of the most anticipated stage races on the international cycling calendar, was presented this morning in Ferrara. The event, organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Emilia, will take place March 25-29, 2025, confirming itself as a landmark event on the Italian calendar and beyond. The event starts again from Ferrara, as it was in the first edition, twenty-five years ago.
Local authorities, representatives of the Italian Cycling Federation and of the localities that will host the five stages, as well as numerous athletes and insiders, were present at the presentation, held in the prestigious Sala Estense of the City Hall.Francesco Carità, Councillor for Sport of the Municipality of Ferrara: “Welcoming the 25th edition of the International Week “Coppi and Bartali” in Ferrara is an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen the link between our city and cycling. After twenty-five years, this prestigious event, which has featured cycling’s greatest champions and continues to be a showcase for up-and-coming talents, returns to bring us the excitement of major competitions, bringing with it world-class athletes and will be an important showcase for the area. Ferrara, with its cycling vocation, is in fact the ideal stage to celebrate sport as a tool for growth, aggregation and economic development. We are proud to host this event and confirm our commitment to promoting events of international scope. We look forward to March 25 because it will be a real celebration of two wheels, and we hope that many citizens and fans will be able to take part in it.”
Adriano Amici, President of Gruppo Sportivo Emilia: “This continuous race over the years has consolidated itself as one of the reference events of the first part of the season and beyond; this is possible thanks to the support of the institutions, our partners and all those who believe in this event. Special thanks go to the Municipality of Ferrara for enthusiastically welcoming and supporting us. We are confident that the 2025 edition will once again live up to its tradition. Without the support of local government and sponsors who believe in us, all this would not be possible, and our goal is to continue on this path.”
Davide Cassani, president of the APT Emilia-Romagna: “The passion and enthusiasm of Adriano Amici has not changed over time,” Cassani said. “For me, it is a real pleasure to see a beautiful, technical route, with short but difficult stages, like that of the upcoming Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. Truly spectacular, which enhances beautiful areas of our region and makes those who don’t know them discover climbs that are also beloved by cyclists in their respective territories.”
The 2025 edition will propose a route that will combine tradition and novelty, crossing evocative and technically challenging scenery.
First Stage: Ferrara – Bondeno (Km 174.5 )The start of the race will take place from a symbolic place: Largo Castello in Ferrara, just as in the first edition in 2001. From here the group will face an initially flat route. The first section includes a circuit to be repeated twice, with a GPM after 33.5 km. Next, it will cross the province of Ferrara, alternating long straights and more winding sections, where the wind could play a decisive role. After 106.7 km, the first passage over the finish line in Bondeno introduces the final circuit of two laps of 33.9 km each. It will be there that we will know the name of the first leader of the general classification.
Second Stage: Riccione – Sogliano al Rubicone (Km 163.9)A tough and spectacular fraction, with a classic altitude profile with over 3200 meters of total elevation gain. After an undulating first section in the Rimini hills, the race enters the Republic of San Marino facing the first real altimetric difficulties. The San Leo climb (4.7 km at 7.4 percent) marks the first GPM of the day, followed by a mixed section up to Passo delle Siepi. After the first passage over the finish line of Sogliano al Rubicone at 69 km, the four laps of the now classic 23.6 km final circuit begin, marked by the climb of “La Ciocca.” The finish is selective: 300 meters from the arrival, a 180° turn introduces the very hard ramp of via Giovanni Pascoli, with gradients up to 18%, decisive to decree the winner of the day on the same finish line where in the past Jonas Vingegaard, Diego Ulissi, Mikel Landa and Bauke Mollema, among others, have triumphed.
Third Stage: Riccione – Cesena (Km 142.1)A treacherous and eventful fraction, perfect for attacks from afar. After a first part similar to the previous stage, it takes in the ramps of Monte Olivo and Verucchio, ideal for skimming the peloton. The intermediate circuit to be repeated twice includes the Sorrivoli climb (1 km at 13%), a real wall that will make it difficult to control the race. The last section of the race includes another circuit with the last climb of the day at Diolaguardia, before a technical descent to Cesena. The last kilometers are very technical, and could favor an uncertain finish.
Fourth Stage: Brisighella – Brisighella (Km 150.4)Stage that traces the route of the previous edition, with an initial circuit to be repeated three times, featuring the Monticino climb. The finale includes two laps on a shorter loop that adds the Rio Chiè climb, short but with a 10% section that could prove decisive. With just over 5 kilometers to go, the final climb is tackled, followed by a technical descent before the challenging finale: the last 400 meters are uphill and characterized by turns in rapid succession, making timing crucial to launch the decisive sprint.

Stage 5: Brisighella – Forlì (km 132.5)The final leg of the race, which is part of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni, kicks off from Brisighella; after a first part devoid of altimetrical difficulties, the route heads into the hills of the Forlì area. It will have to face twice the ascent to the Rocca delle Caminate, before moving to the eastern part and following a loop route including a first climb to Polenta and a subsequent ascent, short but very challenging, before crossing the village of Bertinoro and closing the loop. Finally, a final ascent from the eastern slope of Rocca delle Caminate will act as a springboard to the final finish line located in the central Piazza Saffi in Forlì where the winner of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali 2025 will be crowned and will definitely wear the Sidermec jersey. In Forlì will also be awarded, as at the end of each stage, the Selle SMP jersey to the winner of the points classification, the Città di Forlì jersey to the best climber and the Felsineo jersey to the winner of the youth classification, as well as the first Challenge Emilia Romagna – Sport Valley leader.ALL DETAILS AND THE OFFICIAL GUIDE AT THIS LINK
