African Cycling Championships. Henok Mulubrhan wins the road race
Astana Qazaqstan Team rider Henok Mulubrhan, while representing the Eritrean National Team, achieved a victory in the road race at the African Cycling Road Championships, held in Kenya. Mulubrhan attacked on the final kilometer of the 154 km race, breaking away from his rivals on a slight uphill to secure a solo victory.
This triumph marks Henok’s third consecutive win in the road race at the African Continental Championships.
“We had a fantastic race with the Eritrean National Team; my teammates worked all day, fully controlling the situation. In the last two kilometers, there were several attacks, and I followed my competitors closely, responding to the accelerations. Eventually, I managed to close down all the attacks, and on the last kilometer, I attacked myself, securing the win. I’m extremely happy and proud to bring this victory to Eritrea. I dedicate this win to my country and my family! This is my third consecutive victory in the African Championships, which no one has achieved before. I’m proud of this and very happy to have done it with the Eritrean National Team”, – said Henok Mulubrhan.
