Giosuè Epis 7th in the sprint
“We didn’t expect the stage to be so complicated. There were some curbs, and the average speed was 49 km/h all the way. In a village crossing, David Dekker fell and at the same time there was a curb. Some riders got up and helped him back in. The group regrouped, but he was too weak to sprint. So we played the Giosuè Epis card. He took 7th place. We’re getting used to each other and making progress, race after race. I’m pleased with the riders’ involvement throughout the week. You can tell that David Dekker’s contribution has strengthened the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS development team and that the guys are really committed. On a different type of terrain from the Class 1s we’ve raced up to now, this ZLM has been a great learning experience for our young racers.
