Remco Evenepoel Sets Sights on Algarve Individual Time Trial
Soudal Quick-Step’s leader, Remco Evenepoel, is gearing up for a crucial challenge at the Volta ao Algarve.
Following a day in the mountains, the race returned close to the coast for a stage featuring bumpy roads and a fiercely contested sprint finish. Despite setbacks, Evenepoel managed to steer clear of a late crash and crossed the line alongside his teammates.
With his focus now on the 22.2km individual time trial (ITT) on Saturday, Evenepoel is poised to capitalize on the potential for the stage to reshape the general classification. Currently sitting just four seconds behind the race leader, a strong performance in the ITT could see him donning the coveted yellow jersey before the challenging finish at Alto do Malhão.
