Luke Lamperti Takes Second Place in Muscat Classic
Luke Lamperti, a neo-pro cyclist with Soudal Quick-Step, secured second place in the Muscat Classic, a hilly one-day race preceding the Tour of Oman. The 174.3km race ended in a nail-biting finale in Al Bustan, where Lamperti showcased his speed on the slight uphill finish. The race was won by Finn Fisher-Black of UAE Team Emirates, who made a decisive late attack on the final ramps of the Al Jissah climb.
Lamperti praised his team, saying, “The team did a good race, was really strong the entire day and made sure we were in a good position going into the key sections of the climbs.” Despite being unable to catch the race leader, he expressed confidence for the upcoming Tour of Oman.
This accomplishment marked Soudal Quick-Step’s eighth podium since the beginning of the season, demonstrating the team’s strong performance in the early races.
