Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceuninck emerged victorious in the 58th Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye, winning his fourth stage of the race. Meanwhile, Alexey Lutsenko claimed the overall victory, five years after narrowly missing out on the title.
In the press conference, Philipsen described the sprint finish as expected and acknowledged the importance of positioning. He also praised the cooperation with Astana for facilitating a sprint finish. Philipsen highlighted his enjoyment of the race and expressed his desire to return to the TUR in the future, having won the green jersey for the third consecutive year.
Lutsenko, the Kazakh national champion, expressed his satisfaction with the overall victory and his love for the race and the country. He praised the course, which featured multiple challenging climbs, and singled out the stage to Babadag as a historic and difficult uphill finish.
The TUR, according to Lutsenko, has evolved into a well-rounded race, incorporating stages for sprinters, classics specialists, and climbers. He concluded by expressing his hope to return for future editions of the race.
