Primož Roglic Ends Era with Team Jumbo-Visma with Podium Finish at Il Lombardia

Primož Roglic bid farewell to Team Jumbo-Visma with a podium finish at Il Lombardia. Despite facing a difficult moment on one of the climbs, Roglic fought his way back to the front and gave everything he had in the finishing straight, securing third place. With this result, Roglic’s successful era with the team comes to an end as he prepares to join Bora next season.

Reflecting on his time with Team Jumbo-Visma, Roglic expressed his gratitude and pride in what they have achieved together. He said, “It was a fantastic time with Team Jumbo-Visma. I can look back on it with pride. We went through a lot together over the last eight years. It was a great time. We also achieved a lot together last season.”

Despite feeling disappointed that he couldn’t end his era with the team in style, Roglic acknowledged his luck to be on the podium. He said, “My legs let me down, but I fought until the end. I suffered in the last 50 kilometres. I consider myself lucky to be on the podium. It’s the first time I’ve done that in this race.”

Il Lombardia saw Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates take the victory, followed by Andrea Bagioli of Soudal – Quick Step. Roglic finished in third place, alongside Andrea Bagioli, at a time of +00:00:52.

As Roglic looks forward to the next chapter in his career with Bora, he leaves behind a lasting legacy with Team Jumbo-Visma. He achieved a total of 74 victories, including four grand tour final classifications. Reflecting on his time with the team, Roglic said, “It has been a rollercoaster of emotions, with many beautiful memories that will stay with me forever. It has been an excellent chapter in my life.”
