Juliette Labous Takes Strong Third Place at Giro dell’Emilia
Juliette Labous of Team dsm-firmenich delivered an impressive performance at the Giro dell’Emilia, securing a third-place finish on the challenging San Luca climb. The race, a new addition to the Women’s program calendar, featured a flat 90-kilometer route followed by two ascents of the grueling climb.
Labous’ teammates worked hard to protect and support her throughout the race, staying near the front and conserving energy for the crucial finale. Despite a crash that held up teammates Francesca Barale and Elise Uijen, Labous was able to join a leading group of around 12 riders on the first ascent. On the final climb, Labous showed determination and grit, pushing herself to the limit to secure a well-deserved third place.
Reflecting on the race, Labous commented, “I’m happy with the result and motivated for Tuesday where we will try our best to go for an even better result.” She acknowledged the efforts of her teammates and acknowledged the strength of the riders who finished ahead of her. “I don’t have any regrets, it was just an honest finish and they were stronger in the front.”
Team dsm-firmenich coach Albert Timmer praised the team’s performance, noting their focus on keeping Labous safe throughout the race. Despite the setback of the crash, Labous and her teammates showcased their resilience and determination. “Juliette did her best and did what she could, coming away with a nice third place for us in the end,” Timmer said.
The Giro dell’Emilia served as a testament to Labous’ climbing abilities and Team dsm-firmenich’s dedication to supporting their riders. With Labous’ strong finish, the team remains motivated and determined to achieve even greater results in their future races.
