Ewen Costiou Reflects on His Performance in the Tour du Luxembourg: “I Need to Learn to Channel Myself More”

In the race, Costiou made a mistake by attacking alone instead of waiting for the group behind him. As a result, he ended up using up his strength before the last climb. Reflecting on this, Costiou said, “My mistake was probably not to wait for the group behind me, because in the last climb I still had some strength.”
Despite his tactical error, Costiou acknowledged the collective effort of his team throughout the week. He expressed appreciation for the team’s success, stating, “We’re winning with Jenthe. Today, I was strong, but I didn’t play tactically well. I’d like to apologize to my team-mates for that.”
Costiou also emphasized the importance of learning from his mistakes. As a relatively new professional cyclist with only a few months of experience behind him, he understands that there is a learning curve. He said, “But you learn from your mistakes. I’m still learning after only a few months of professionalism behind me.”
Despite the disappointment in his tactical choices, Costiou remains optimistic about his fitness level as the season comes to a close. He believes that he is in good shape and looks forward to future opportunities to improve his performance. Costiou concluded, “One thing’s for sure, I’m in good shape as the season draws to a close.”
