Are you looking for a thrilling road bike racing experience? Look no further than the 2023 Cycling Time Trials Road Bike Championships. Hosted by FTP Racing (Fulfill The Potential) near Bristol on October 1st, this inclusive event welcomes all cyclists to participate. All you need is a road bike, helmet, shoes, and working front and rear lights.

The Road Bike Championships, in its second installment, aims to provide a point of entry for cyclists who have never competed in a time trial before. To make it even more accessible, the hosting team, FTP Racing, is offering a complimentary childcare service for riders who may have childcare considerations. This initiative aims to ensure that anyone who wants to participate can do so without any hindrances.

Safety and fairness are prioritized in the competition, and to maintain these standards, the Road Bike Championships follow specific criteria for road bikes. Tri-bars, clip-on bars, and Spinaci bars are not allowed. In addition, disc wheels are prohibited, and both the front and rear wheels must have at least 12 spokes with a maximum rim depth of 90mm. These guidelines ensure that all participants compete on an equal playing field.

Andrea Parish, Chair of Cycling Time Trials (CTT), expressed her excitement for the event and emphasized CTT’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and fair competition in the sport. She encourages those who may have never considered time trial racing to give it a try.

The event will be hosted on a brand new course, U604, which traverses the smooth and undulating roads around the famous Castle Combe area. Billy Oliver, Team Manager of FTP Racing, describes the course as offering a bit of everything – fast sections, technical aspects, a rolling parcours, and a punchy finish. He expresses pride in being entrusted with the opportunity to host the event.
