Dylan Teuns Takes Second Place at the Grand Prix de Wallonie

Israel – Premier Tech rider, Dylan Teuns, showcased his skill and determination at the Grand Prix de Wallonie, launching a powerful attack on the final climb. Despite his efforts, Teuns was narrowly beaten to the finish line by Movistar’s Gonzalo Serrano.

The Grand Prix de Wallonie proved to be a grueling race, with Israel – Premier Tech setting a fast pace and creating a challenging environment for the riders. Mason Hollyman managed to join the early breakaway, but the peloton never allowed them more than a thirty-second lead.

Nick Schultz, who was celebrating his birthday, and Jakob Fuglsang also launched attacks in an attempt to make the race even more demanding for their competitors.

As the race reached the final kilometer, Stevie Williams launched a rapid attack, taking a select group with him. Seizing the opportunity, Teuns surged past the pack and created a substantial gap with just five-hundred meters to go. However, Serrano managed to dig deep and caught Teuns just before the finish line.

Reflecting on the race, Teuns expressed a mix of satisfaction and disappointment, saying, “In the last corner, I just went a bit too fast and had to brake a lot, and lost all my speed, so Serrano managed to get back to my wheel and beat me in the sprint. I gave it everything, so I’m still satisfied to be fighting for the win.”

Sports Director Rene Mandri praised the team’s efforts and expressed his pride in their performance, stating, “Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the win, but we can be proud of all of them today!”
