Matteo Sobrero Takes Brilliant Second Place Finish on La Vuelta Stage 9 Summit

Giro d’Italia stage winner Matteo Sobrero of Team Jayco AlUla showcased his determination and resilience on stage nine of La Vuelta a España, fighting back from recent bad luck to secure a brilliant second place finish.

After several failed attempts, Sobrero finally found success by joining the day’s breakaway. He remained attentive in the wheels as attacks were launched on the steep ramps leading to the hilltop finish in Collado de la Cruz de Caravaca. Despite his efforts to close the gap with Lennard Kamna, Sobrero settled for second place.

As the Australian outfit heads into a rest day, they remain confident and ready to continue racing on the offensive in the final two weeks of La Vuelta. Sobrero expressed his satisfaction with his performance, saying, “I did my best and I am happy with this.”
