Israel – Premier Tech Loses Leader’s Jersey in Tour of Britain Due to Jury Intervention
Following the third stage of the Tour of Britain, Israel – Premier Tech has lost the leader’s jersey after a jury intervention. The breakaway group managed to maintain their lead and the organization initially failed to calculate the time differences between the break and the peloton.
The UCI commissaire president reviewed the situation and amended the stage 3 result. As a result, a rival of Israel – Premier Tech’s team leader, Corbin Strong, surpassed him to take the race lead. Strong is now second in the general classification, trailing by seven seconds.
During the wet and rainy race, Israel – Premier Tech’s team worked hard, with Reto Hollenstein and Alex Dowsett pulling all day. However, the misjudgment of the time gap led to disappointment for Strong, who expressed his frustration at losing the red jersey.
Looking ahead to the next stage, Strong expects a challenging battle, saying, “It looks easier on paper than it actually is. I expect battles tomorrow.” Despite losing the leader’s jersey, Strong continues to lead in the points classification and will race the fourth stage in the blue jersey.
