Astana – Premier Tech has announced a new partnership with CORE Body Temperature Monitoring, a technical partner for the 2021 season. The collaboration aims to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of body temperature on rider performance and recovery.
CORE’s body temperature monitoring technology will provide valuable insights into the relationship between body temperature and performance, enabling the team to adjust cooling and hydration strategies on a rider-by-rider basis. Astana – Premier Tech is dedicated to performance and innovation and looks for partners who share the same philosophy.
Astana – Premier Tech Technical Manager Ivan Velasco expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We know that body temperature can impact performance and CORE offers us a unique and easy method to track both core temperature and skin temperature in a racing and training environment.”
Yana Seel, Astana – Premier Tech Managing Director, added, “We are very pleased to welcome CORE as our new technical partner…Our partnership with CORE is a perfect fit.”
The CORE Body Temperature Monitoring device clips onto the rider’s Garmin heart rate monitor strap and measures live core body temperature metrics. It records data directly onto the Garmin computer used by Astana – Premier Tech. The device offers accurate measurements and is the only wearable solution that captures highly accurate core body temperature without the need for an ingested or inserted thermometer.
The partnership with CORE will help Astana – Premier Tech optimize riding performance by leveraging CORE’s unique technology and expertise. It will enable coaches, nutritionists, and riders to make informed decisions based on core body temperature data.
CORE is a product of greenTEG AG, a Zurich-based company that develops and manufactures thermal sensors. CORE Body Temperature Monitoring provides an affordable, wearable, and convenient solution to accurately measure core body temperature in a non-invasive manner. The technology has been adopted by prominent athletes, teams, and national sporting bodies.
