2024 Junior Track National Championships Date Change Announced by USA Cycling
USA Cycling has announced a date change for the 2024 Junior Track National Championships scheduled to take place in Redmond, Washington. The event is set to be held from August 1-4, 2024, marking a two-week shift from the previously slated dates of August 15-17. According to the announcement, the event will span three days, with August 4th designated as a contingency day in case of weather delays.
USA Cycling’s Director of National Events, Kyle Knott, explained the rationale behind the date change, stating, “Once it was brought to our attention that the UCI had announced their date and location for the Junior Track World Championships, we began having conversations with our Sports Performance team and the Jerry Baker Velodrome to move our National Championship.” Knott emphasized the importance of aligning the Junior Track National Championships with the World Championships selection procedures to ensure the inclusion of top talent.
The 2024 Junior Track National Championship is set to serve as a qualifier for the 2024 UCI Junior Track World Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Luoyang, China from August 21-25. This development underlines the significance of the National Championship as a pivotal platform for identifying and nurturing promising talents in the world of track cycling.
